Who is Mayor Derek S.K. Kawakami?
During my winter break from the University of Colorado Boulder, I joined the Mayor’s Office Team once again. This time, I knew I wanted to put together a longer video using the new skills I had learned at university. Putting together this project felt like the culmination of my time with such a fantastic group of people. Written, shot, and edited in one week.
Mayor’s Chamber Video
In 2024, I produced, directed, and edited a video for the County of Kauai's Mayor's Chamber, collaborating closely with Mayor Derek Kawakami. The project was executed in coordination with Full Time Public Information Officer Teak Ruby-Ano.
In 2023, I directed and edited a video project for the County of Kauai's Mayor's Chamber, working in collaboration with Mayor Derek Kawakami. The production was carried out alongside Former Full Time Public Information Officer Taires Hiranaka.

Kauaʻi wildfires 2024
At the end of my 2024 Summer internship with The Office of Mayor Derek Kawakami, I was dispatched as an Emergency Public Information Officer, including coverage of the 2024 Kauaʻi Kaumakani Wildfires.

Videographer and Editor for the Mayor’s day-to-day, including the sudden decision to trim bushes at a roundabout and even surprising a lucky young girl at Costco. Videos were turned around same day.
